Gary Larson is the creator of The Far Side cartoon series,
syndicated in over 1900 newspapers for a fifteen year stretch,
starting in 1980 in The San Francisco Chronicle.
His twenty-three books of collected cartoons have sold over forty-five
million copies. He retired in 1995, but just last year decided he wasn't
through with cartoons, and today has an active website where folks
His work has a variety of subject matter, but living where we do,
we've chosen panels from his "Cows" and "Old West" cartoons
