Mark Jouanicot from Montana enjoys a shot and suds
after hiking 570 miles to get to Magdalena, on his way from
Apache Junction, Arizona to Sandia Crest. It's a "new" route
for hikers called the "Grand Enchantment Trail". More
about this coming on the "Area Attractions" page.

A quintet of college kids from the University of Illinois
on Spring break stopped by 3/22, taking a rest from the road
on their trip to the Grand Canyon. Good outfit!
Have a safe journey folks and take time to enjoy
The Great American Southwest!
It was a pleasure meeting you all!

The Saloon benefit for the
San Augustin Water Coalition
was a terrific success -
$1500 was raised for their warchest,
information about the Water Grab was spread,
and a number of messages were sent to Governor Martinez
on the laptops we had available.
Oh yeah, and people danced their butts off!
.
BARTENDER4MAYOR sounded great, and earlier
in the evening Bernie Romero & Friends set a good tone
for the evening with Spanish and Western "unplugged."
It was ALL GOOD....as they say.
Gracias por todo amigos!

A big thanks goes out to Linda and the M & M Grill crew,
who served up a"fabulous" selection of munchies
(yes, someone really said that, and it was true).
Also, a fond thanks to Laurie Gregg at the Mountain Mail
for printing the posters and being so gracious.
.
And lastly,
A BIG TIP OF THE HAT TO EVERYONE
WHO CAME AND SUPPORTED THE CAUSE!
STOP THE WATER GRAB!
